Gray wants Owls to focus on Cup

Sheffield Wednesday caretaker manager Stuart Gray has warned his players to forget Saturday's rout of Leeds when non-league Macclesfield come to town in the FA Cup.

We are looking forward to it. It was a difficult tie for us last time, we played well in the first half but we couldn't finish them off with a second goal.

All credit to Macclesfield, they came back into it and it was more of a cup tie in the final 20 minutes.

It is a case of it not being after the Lord Mayor's show, we have to be fully focused.

We need to make this place a fortress and we can start on Tuesday.

Owls sign Damian Martinez on loan from Arsenal

Sheffield Wednesday have snapped up Arsenal's young Argentinean goalkeeper Damian Martinez on a one-month loan deal.

The 21-year-old joined the Gunners' Academy in 2010 and was quickly handed a place in Arsene Wenger's first-team squad at the Emirates Stadium.

Hull striker Matty Fryatt has joined Sheffield Wednesday on a one-month loan.

Fryatt has made just two appearances for the Tigers this season, both in the Capital One Cup, and manager Steve Bruce has been eager to get him a short-term deal to build match sharpness.

Matty needs to go somewhere and play. One game a month in a cup competition is not enough," said Bruce.

"He needs to go and play four, five, six games in the Championship.

"He could do with that and it could do him the world of good."
