Redknapp praise for Spurs boss

Harry Redknapp has praised new Tottenham head coach Mauricio Pochettino but insists anything other than a top-four finish this season would be a disappointment for Spurs.

I like the manager there.

He did a great job at Southampton, and I'm sure he'll do a great job at Tottenham. They should be pushing to get into the top four, and if they don't it would be a disappointment for Tottenham - that's what they've been trying to do the past couple of seasons, and anything below would be a disappointment.

Davies handed Spurs debut in Cyprus

Summer signing Ben Davies was handed his Tottenham debut in the Europa League play-off first leg against AEL Limassol.

The 21-year-old was one of seven changes made by manager Mauricio Pochettino to Saturday's 1-0 at West Ham, with Jan Vertonghen and Paulinho making their first appearances since returning from the World Cup.

Lewis Holtby, Andros Townsend, Harry Kane and Roberto Soldado also came in at the Antonis Papadopoulos Stadium, while Eric Dier kept his place in defence after his match-winning display at Upton Park.
