Valencia appoint Pizzi as new boss

Valencia have named Juan Antonio Pizzi as their new head coach.

The 45-year-old Argentinian succeeds Miroslav Djukic, who left the club on December 12 after a disappointing six-month spell in charge.

Pizzi takes over a Valencia side that lies 11th in La Liga.

What was he thinking?

Valencia responded to their disappointing Europa League defeat against Swansea last month by collecting all three points with a 2-0 win at Rubin Kazan last night.

It took Valencia until the 73rd minute to break down Kazan's resolve. Well, we say 'break' but in fact, they were gifted this opener by Aleksandr Belenov's howler, above.

And we think Joe Hart has problems!
