Valencia sign Seydou Keita

Valencia have announced that former Barcelona midfielder Seydou Keita has passed a medical and will join the club until the summer, with the option of a further season.

The 34-year-old Mali international completed his medial on Friday morning and will immediately join up with his new side.

Ex-Barcelona midfielder Seydou Keita has joined Valencia until the end of the season, with the view to extending for another year, following his departure from Chinese club Dalian Aerbin FC.

The 34-year-old midfielder could make his debut for his new side in Catalonia, against his former club this weekend.

La Liga side Valencia are keen on signing Liverpool striker Iago Aspas, with a loan deal the favoured option, according to reports in the Spanish media.

Mundo Deportivo claim Valencia want to bring the former Celta Vigo man back to his homeland, after he failed to make an impact on Merseyside.

Valencia appoint Pizzi as new boss

Valencia have named Juan Antonio Pizzi as their new head coach.

The 45-year-old Argentinian succeeds Miroslav Djukic, who left the club on December 12 after a disappointing six-month spell in charge.

Pizzi takes over a Valencia side that lies 11th in La Liga.

Valencia have sacked manager Miroslav Djukic after just 23 games in charge of the Spanish outfit, the club have announced.

Valencia responded to their disappointing Europa League defeat against Swansea last month by collecting all three points with a 2-0 win at Rubin Kazan last night.

It took Valencia until the 73rd minute to break down Kazan's resolve. Well, we say 'break' but in fact, they were gifted this opener by Aleksandr Belenov's howler, above.
