Thompson set for Wirral

Tranmere Rovers are set to add 23-year-old winger Joe Thompson to their ranks after agreeing a deal with his club Rochdale. The youngster's deal at Spotland expired in the summer, but due to his age a compensation fee was needed, which is close to being finalised.
