Former Germany and Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack is set to be the latest big-name import to Australia after Western Sydney Wanderers reportedly approached the 35-year-old over a transfer.
Ballack is a free agent after leaving Bayer Leverkusen this summer and is considering his options.
Speaking to the Herald Sun, Wanderers chairman Lyall Gorman cooled talk of any deal, saying: "A-League clubs talk to lots of player agents about lots of different players.
"We don't provide a running commentary on these talks and we won't offer confirmations or denials every time a rumour surfaces.''
The rumours surrounding Ballack come hot on the heels of two other headline-grabbing transfers to the A-League.
Former Italy and Juventus star Alessandro del Piero completed his move to Sydney FC last week, while earlier this week ex-England striker Emile Heskey entered talks with Newcastle Jets.
