Midfielder Miralem Pjanic wants to stay at Roma despite being linked to Barclays Premier League sides Tottenham and Arsenal.

The £20-million rated playmaker is yet to sign a contract extension to the four-year deal he signed in 2011.

However, amid interest from other clubs, the 23-year-old remains clear on where he wants to be in the near future.

"I don't want to leave. Everyone at the club knows that," he told Roma's club website.

"I've always wanted to stay here. I want to give everything to start the season well," Pjanic added.

"I don't know about the financial situation at the club. A new contract? It doesn't happen overnight. We're talking about it."
