4 June - Hats off to Ugo

Published: Thursday, 4 June 2009, 5:41PM

It was great to see my Harlequins team-mate Ugo Monye get two tries for the British & Irish Lions last night.

I thought he played brilliantly all round - and if he keeps doing that then I reckon he'll be nailed on for a starting shirt.

Ugo, me and Jordan Turner-Hall all do the same celebration when we score a try, inspired by Jay-Z's tune Roc Boys.

And I'm glad to see he produced our obligatory try celebration at Ellis Park in Johannesburg last night, and he hasn't forgotten about us!

Hopefully I can get myself on the scoresheet against Argentina this weekend, and I'll be able to return the compliment to Ugo.

Argentina are next up for England at Old Trafford on Saturday, and it'll be really cool for us to play somewhere different to Twickenham.

I've always wanted to go and watch a game at Manchester United's home - despite being a Liverpool fan - but playing a game of rugby there will be going one better.

Twickenham is always a fantastic arena to play in, but heading somewhere different like Old Trafford is exciting. There are a couple of United fans in the team and the likes of Mark Cueto is really looking forward to running out there.

And it was awesome playing for England with so many Quins boys last weekend. Jordan got himself a good try and played really well in midfield and Chris Robshaw does what he does for Harlequins week in, week out. He was all over the place making tackles and fair play to them both, they did really well.

Argentina have got some awesome players. Juan Martín Hernández at ten is a special player to watch and then the likes of Juan Manuel Leguizamón and Juan Martín Fernández Lobbe are also superb operators.

Hernandez played at full-back when Quins beat Stade Francais twice in the Heineken Cup earlier this season. But I reckon we'll see plenty more of him on Saturday as he's lining up at fly-half in the absence of Felipe Contepomi. He's one of the best players in the world and we're going to have to watch out for him.

Lobbe sums Argentina up, he's physical, he never gives up and he's a real dog around the pitch for the entire 80 minutes. Their back row is fantastic and the breakdown is going to be absolutely key at Old Trafford. Whoever wins the collisions and dominates around the tackle area is going to have the best of it.

Next week's blog will be coming to you direct from Argentina - we're playing them in Salta on Saturday week - so make sure you come back for that ...

Cheers,
DC
