The British and Irish Lions have made five changes to their team for the second Test in Pretoria on Saturday.
Simon Shaw replaces Alun Wyn-Jones in the second row, while Luke Fitzgerald comes in for Ugo Monye on the wing and Rob Kearney starts at full-back in place of the injured Lee Byrne.
In the front row, which endured an intensely difficult day in the first-Test defeat, prop Phil Vickery loses out to Adam Jones and hooker Lee Mears is replaced by Matthew Rees.
The 35-year-old Wasps lock Shaw will provide a steady presence in the line-out, another area where the tourists struggled last Saturday. Fitzgerald and Kearney are both hugely talented Irish backs from Leinster - full-back Byrne misses out with a foot injury while Monye is dropped from the matchday 22 after missing two simple chances in Durban.
Wales prop Jones helped to steady the Lions scrum after Vickery was pushed all over the place in the first half at the ABSA Stadium and the Lions will hope to achieve parity in the set-piece and provide quicker ball for the devastating centre pairing of Brian O'Driscoll and Luke Fitzgerald.
McGeechan said, "As a squad the Lions still have everything to play for. The players know that the outcome of the Test series comes down to Saturday and they are determined to take the series to a decider in Johannesburg.
“There were many positives to come out of the First Test which we have built upon this week.
“We have made five changes to the starting XV but it will not change the way we want to play. Both teams will be better for the run last weekend and we know we will have to step up our performance to ensure that we again take the game to the opposition and are more accurate in taking our opportunities."
