News: Hines suspended for a week

British & Irish Lions lock Nathan Hines has been suspended for one week for a dangerous tackle on Wilhelm Steenkamp of the Emerging Springboks.

The incident occurred against in the second half of the Lions’ 13-13 draw on Tuesday after which he was cited.

Hines was found guilty at a hearing on Wednesday afternoon, which he attended with team manager Gerald Davies and coach Ian McGeechan.

Scotland international Hines has 24 hours to lodge an appeal, or else remain out of contention for the second Test against South Africa on Saturday.
