Seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong declared himself happy with his performance in Saturday's first stage of the Tour de France in Monaco.
The 37-year-old Texan is racing in the Tour for the first time since 2005, having announced his intention to come out of retirement late last year.
And Armstrong said he was pleased with his efforts on Stage 1 despite the demanding and technical nature of the course.
"I felt pretty good," Armstrong said. "I was a little all over the place ... It was up, flat, it was down, it was a technical course. But I think overall, I felt good.
"I think the best way to sum it up is, I had a good time. I didn't have any big illusions."
