Our very cute couple Dan and Dawn from Series Two have only gone and got engaged! Yep after Dan picked Dawn for a date, their romance soon blossomed into love – aww!
So with that in mind we grilled them on all things romance, Cupid, and plain old flirting….
So Dan, tell us why did you keep Dawn’s light on?
I had already made up my mind that Dawn was the girl I wanted to take on a date. Her family qualities were the same as mine, she seemed like a good laugh, and of course, I was attracted to her! So there was never any question off me turning that light off…
And Dawn, how did you feel when Dan picked you?
I was over the moon! I couldn’t wait to go on a date with Dan, he was definitely the best guy I’d seen come down the love lift that’s for sure.
Sounds like there was an instant attraction! Would you say you both believe in love at first sight?
Dan: In all honesty, I really didn’t… that was until I met Dawn. Sparks just flew between us and on the Isle of Fernando’s there was no awkwardness, we just laughed so much – I knew I was in love!
Dawn: I actually don’t think I did either, but as soon as I saw Dan I definitely did! I am true believer of fate, I think if we hadn’t met on the show, we would have met in a different way – I am 100% certain.
Aww! So do you think it is fair to say Paddy is a modern day Cupid?
Dan: Paddy is great isn’t he! Well he definitely played his part right as Cupid for me and Dawn, so to be honest I couldn’t dispute that!
Dawn: I agree – I just expected a fun and flirtatious date (which I got), but thanks to Paddy I am going to be marrying a wonderful man, how amazing!
So come on tell us, what is your favourite Paddy-ism?
Both in unison: ‘Let the Pina see the Colado’, -as that’s what he said when I came down the love lift wasn’t it Dawn? (These two are so in tune with each other!)
Ok, enough of dating chit-chat, what we really want to know is Dawn how did Dan propose?
It was the perfect proposal. He gave me my Christmas card to open on Christmas Eve, and it said ‘To my Fiancé’ – and it actually took me a few minutes to click what it meant. I was so shocked, and so surprised, I just stood there for a few minutes, and then he went down on one knee. (And the bling is lovely, we must say!)
So since you’re a lovely and very loved-up couple, can you share your secret with our singletons?
Dawn: To fall in love with someone you have to go out, be pro-active and have a lot of flirtatious fun!
Dan: And there has to be a vibe between you! I am a laid-back guy and loved that Dawn was a bubbly blonde who wasn’t high maintenance, my perfect girl!
