DAYBREAK DOWNSIZE IN DUBAI APPLICATION: INTERACTION INFORMATION
Opening/closing date & time:
Application period opens on Wednesday 16th November 2011 and closes on Wednesday 23rd November 2011 at midday.
Eligibility criteria:
Participants must meet the following criteria:
(a) Must be aged 18 or over;
(b) Must be a UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man resident, meaning they must ordinarily be living in the UK, Isle of Man or the Channel Islands for the duration of the application and participation process;
(c) Must not be employed or engaged by the Promoter, programme producers (the “producers”) or companies within their group of companies or be a live-in partner or immediate relative (i.e. mother, father, son, daughter, brother or sister) of an employee of the Promoter, producers or persons professionally associated with the application;
(d) Must hold a current and valid passport must be prepared to obtain any other relevant travel documentation required for travel to and entry to Dubai (including, if necessary, visas). Passports must be valid for travel with a minimum of six (6) months on the date of departure from the UK when taking up the trip;
(e) Must be available for travel to Dubai for a period of 7 days as specified by the producers between 9th January and 20th January 2012;
(f) Must disclose to the producers when asked, details of any and all convictions and actions pending against them currently and/or any unspent convictions other than driving offences which have not resulted in a ban. At the sole discretion of the producers, certain convictions or pending criminal proceedings against an applicant may invalidate their application or otherwise result in the termination of their participation in the programme;
(g) Must be available to be contacted, and for filming purposes or otherwise on specified dates, including but not limited to dates during the period from Wednesday 23rd November 2011 to January 2012 inclusive or such other date or dates as may be specified by the Promoter and/or producers;
(h) Must be available to travel to London to meet producers on December 1st 2011 or such other date or dates as may be specified by the Promoter and/or producers;
(i) Those selected to participate in the programme must consent to being filmed throughout their participation in the programme including without limitation in Dubai and also working with our experts while being filmed;
(j) Those selected are likely to be required to feature on the programme on specified dates, including but not limited a date in January 2012 and/or such other date or dates as may be specified by the Promoter and/or producers.
Proof of eligibility may be required.
Failure to comply with the eligibility criteria as set out in these terms and conditions, and elsewhere as applicable or failure to comply with instructions and/or directions given or with these terms and conditions in any way may result in disqualification from the application. For the avoidance of doubt, if we suspect that a potential participant is not eligible to participate in this application, we reserve the right to terminate or suspend their further participation.
By submitting your application you agree to comply with these terms and conditions. You agree that you may be contacted by the producers, and that you may be required for filming purposes and/or other appearances at any time for simultaneous or later broadcast in any media, and that your application and/or participation may be published in all media, adapted, in whole or in part, or otherwise exploited in any manner, including but not limited to publication on www.itv.com in the Promoter’s sole discretion.
Application criteria:
Applications which are incomplete, incomprehensible, illegible, or which are received or submitted after the deadline for receipt of applications will be invalid and will not be considered.
Method of application:
Applicants must download and complete the application form available on ITV.com/daybreak and must fill in ALL the required fields including without limitation providing their personal contact information including but not limited to full name, address, age, daytime contact number, weight and the amount of weight they wish to lose. Attachment of a photo is optional. Applicants are also required to include their reason for wanting to apply (the “Submission(s)”). The Submission should be around 300 words long or less. The producers are looking for people with a story to share and who are clearly dedicated to losing weight so please do include why you want to lose weight including without limitation any goals or motivations.
Applicants must then email their completed form (and any photo if applicable) to the following email address: daybreak@itv.com.
Please note that there is no other method of application other than as specified in these terms and conditions. The Promoter and the producers bear no responsibility for any application which is incorrectly submitted, lost or delayed due to technical problems, or damaged in any way. The Promoter and/or the producers will not acknowledge receipt of any application.
Cost of applying:
There is no charge for application but internet service provider’s fees may apply when accessing the internet.
Participation process:
The programme production team will review the applications and in their sole discretion based on the Submissions select approximately 20 people to come and meet producers at the London Studio. The production team’s decision is final. This process will be filmed. The producers propose but do not undertake to make profile films of some of the individuals as determined by the producers sharing their story. The production team’s decision is final.
The production team may in their discretion (but do not undertake to) select a number of applicants from those initially selected and run a viewer vote to determine which of those applicants will participate in the boot camp segment in Dubai. The production team’s decision is final. Voting dates and times are as set by the Promoter or the producer at their sole discretion. The General Vote and Poll terms and conditions at www.itv.com/terms will apply to this vote.
On or around Friday 13th January 2012 the producer expects but does not undertake to reveal up to four slimmers to take part in a segment(s) of the programme based around a boot camp in Dubai.
Each selected applicant will be contacted for confirmation of eligibility and compliance with the application criteria. Failure to comply with any criteria may result in disqualification of an applicant and another applicant being selected.
In order to participate in the Dubai boot camp segment(s) of the programme, the producers will provide each of the applicants selected to take part with:
- Return economy class flights from an airport in London (subject to availability) (“London Airport”) to Dubai on date(s) in January 2012 or such other dates as may be specified by the Promoter and/or producers;
- Return travel from the UK mainline railway station nearest to their home address to the London Airport (subject to availability) on date(s) in January 2012 or such other dates as may be specified by the Promoter and/or producers;
- Return ground transfers from Dubai airport to their hotel accommodation;
- Six nights’ accommodation at a hotel Dubai in a single room;and
- Breakfast, lunch and dinner on each day.
Please note that the selected participant must be willing to travel to Dubai alone without family members or friends. If a visa is required then the selected participant must arrange their own visa to Dubai (at their own cost). It is the responsibility of the applicant to inform the producers of any wheelchair or similar access requirements and to adhere to any applicable health and safety guidelines.
General:
By making an application and (if applicable) participating in the programme you grant the Promoter permission to use the application and participation in any way it wants. This means that the Promoter can use, edit, reproduce, record, modify, translate, distribute, play, perform, broadcast, make available and display your application and/or participation (or part thereof) and/or prepare derivative works of the application and/or participation by any medium or method whether now known or later developed, including without limitation on the website or any other website in its sole discretion anywhere in the world. The Promoter may also permit third parties to use the application and/or participation. You acknowledge that you will not receive any fee or royalty payment from the Promoter, producers or any third party for the consents and grants given by you in relation to your application and participation.
You confirm and agree that you are fully authorised and entitled to grant this permission. You agree to give us evidence of this authority and entitlement if requested by us. You agree to waive any moral rights that may exist in relation to your application or participation. This means that you waive the right to complain about the way in which the Promoter and/or producers may edit, alter or use the application or participation and that the Promoter and/or producers do not have to identify you.
The Promoter and/or producers do not guarantee, represent, undertake or warrant that they will contact every applicant or broadcast or feature their application or participation or otherwise exploit in any manner any content which may or may not include their application or participation. Unless otherwise specified, the Promoter is not liable to refund any costs or expenses incurred in submitting the application or participating in the programme including but not limited to internet access fees, any phone calls made, travel costs and accommodation, incidental costs, charges, fees, expenses and taxes.
