Name of competition:
It’s Our Granadaland: Design a Penguin Competition
 
Competition opening/closing date & time:
Competition opens on Monday 19 October 2009 as stated in the Granada Reports programme on ITV1 (the “programme”) and closes at 11:59 p.m on Tuesday, 3 November 2009.
 
Entrants’ Eligibility:
Entrants under 18 years must obtain prior parental permission before entering the competition. Proof of age and eligibility will be required. Entrants must meet all other eligibility requirements as set out in the general competition terms and conditions as applicable.
 
Method of entry: 
Eligible entrants are required to use their originality, creativity and imagination to create their own design of a penguin based on the theme, ‘It’s Our Granadaland’ to be incorporated within the ‘Go Penguins’ art exhibition in Liverpool. The winning design may (but the Promoter does not guarantee it will) be displayed online on the www.itv.com/granada website and in the programme.
 
Email entry: Entrants may enter the competition by emailing their design in .jpeg or .gif format (with file size no larger than 2 Megabytes), along with their name and a contact telephone number to Granada.reports@itv.com. Entries may be made by an individual or two individuals named jointly as the creators. For email entries, the names of both individuals who created the design must be listed in the accompanying email.
 
There is no other method of entry other than that specified in these terms and conditions.
 
Postal entry: Entrants may post their entry along with their name and contact telephone number (to be written on the reverse of their design) to: It’s Our Granadaland, Granada Reports, ITV Granada, Quay Street, Manchester, M60 9EA. Entries may be made by an individual or two individuals named jointly as the creators. For postal entries, the names of both individuals who created the design must be written on the back of the design.
 
General
Entries created by groups of individuals of any more than two individuals, including without limitation school groups or other organisations, will be invalid and will not be entered into the competition. Entrants may submit up to 3 images of the same design, provided that for email entries the file size of each image is no more than 2 Megabytes. Only one entry per entrant is permitted. Any additional entries per entrant will be invalid and will not be entered into the competition and it will be at the judges discretion as to which of the entries out of all submitted will be entered into the competition.
 
Eligible entries will only be accepted if they are solely the work of the entrant and they include no third party images or other third party content. Entrants warrant that they will not submit any material and/or design which in any way infringes the rights of a third party, or which infringes any applicable laws. All submitted material and/or designs in your entry are considered as “Submissions” (as defined under the Terms of Use at www.itv.com/terms) and are subject to such Terms of Use, except that your material and/or design submitted with your entry will be subject to the following additional terms which will prevail over the Terms of Use: you agree to assign to the Promoter all your rights and interests (including all intellectual property rights) in the materials and/or designs for all uses on all platforms. You also agree to waive your moral rights in such materials and/or designs. Entries cannot be returned to the entrant and the Promoter is not liable to reimburse an entrant for any costs liabilities or expenses incurred in entering this competition.
 
Entries will be judged by a panel of three judges to determine the winner of the prize (‘prize’). The judges will make their decision based on the entrants’ originality, creativity and imagination when working with the theme of ‘It’s Our Granadaland’. The judges’ decision is final. Entries made, or received by the Promoter, after the closing time, or failing to provide the information as required are invalid and will not be entered into the competition.
 
Cost of entry:
There is no charge for email or postal entries.
 
Prize:
The entry deemed to be the best from all eligible entries at the sole discretion of the judges’ will be the winner of the prize. The prize is for the winner to attend a day’s workshop at ITV Granada, Quay Street, Manchester, with community artist, Mike Badger working on his interpretation of the winning design to create a three-dimensional image. The three-dimensional image based on the winning entry will then be displayed as part of the ‘Go Penguins’ art exhibition in Liverpool. If the first prize winner is under 18 years of age they must be accompanied by an adult. It is the responsibility of the first prize winner to ensure that they, and where applicable, their adult companion, are available on the relevant date and time of the workshop with Mike Badger. The workshop will be held any time between 10 November 2009 and 30 November 2009 (inclusive), with the exact date to be determined between the winner and the Promoter and/or prize provider. The Promoter and/or prize provider reserves the right to vary these dates at their discretion. The winning design may also (but the Promoter does not guarantee it will) be displayed online on the www.itv.com/granada website and in the programme.
 
The prize is subject to restrictions and to the terms and conditions of the prize provider and/or producer. The prize is non-changeable and non-transferable. There is no cash equivalent or alternative prize available. For the avoidance of doubt, the prize excludes all other associated costs, expenses and charges which may be incurred by a winner in taking up a prize, including but not limited to travel and/or transportation costs or expenses, parking costs, meals, accommodation and any other charges or costs not included in the prize. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Promoter and/or producer is not liable for any costs, liabilities, damages, injuries, losses, or for any medical conditions aggravated or incurred by a winner, or where applicable, their companion, as a result of taking up a prize.
 
Judging will take place towards the end of the week commencing Monday 2 November 2009. The winning entry will be announced during the programme on Monday 9 November 2009. Each winner will be notified as soon as practical after the closing date. He/she will be contacted on the phone number they provided when entering the competition. The Promoter will not amend contact information provided once entry to the competition has been made. Reasonable efforts will be made to contact a winner. Failure to respond and/or, where applicable, provide an address for delivery of the prize, or failure to meet the eligibility requirements as set out in these terms and conditions, may result in forfeiture of the prize. If they cannot be contacted, or they are unable comply with these terms and conditions and take up the prize as specified, and without limitation on the dates as specified above, then the Promoter reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant and thereafter until a winner is found.
