LORRAINE NEW YEAR NEW YOU APPLICATION: INTERACTION INFORMATION
 
Opening/closing date & time:
Application period opens on Tuesday 1 November 2011 and closes on Friday 4 November 2011 at midday.
 
Eligibility criteria:
Participants must meet the following criteria:
 
(a)                 Must be aged 18 or over;
(b)                 Must be a UK or Channel Islands resident, meaning they must ordinarily be living in the UK or the Channel Islands for the duration of the application;
(c)                 Must not be employed or engaged by the Promoter, programme producers (the “producers”) or companies within their group of companies or be a live-in partner or immediate relative (i.e. mother, father, son, daughter, brother or sister) of an employee of the Promoter, producers or persons professionally associated with the application;
(d)                 Must hold a current and valid passport must be prepared to obtain any other relevant travel documentation required for travel to and entry to Barbados (including, if necessary, visas). Passports must be valid for travel with a minimum of six (6) months on the date of departure from the UK when taking up the trip;
(e)                 Must disclose to the producers when asked, details of any and all convictions and actions pending against them currently and/or any unspent convictions other than driving offences which have not resulted in a ban. At the sole discretion of the producers, certain convictions or pending criminal proceedings against an applicant may invalidate their application or otherwise result in the termination of their participation in the programme;
(f)                   Must not be seeking help from counsellors, psychologists or other therapists in relation to the problems/issues that are to be addressed by Paul McKenna in the event that the participant is selected to take part in the item;
(g)                 Must be available to be contacted, and for filming purposes or otherwise on specified dates, including but not limited to dates during the period Monday 7 November 2011 and Sunday 20 November 2011 inclusive or such other date or dates as may be specified by the Promoter and/or producers;
(h)                 Those selected must be available to travel to Barbados on specified dates, including but not limited to dates during the period Tuesday 22 November 2011 and Monday 28 November 2011 inclusive or such other date or dates as may be specified by the Promoter and/or producers;
(i)                   Those selected must consent to being filmed throughout their time in Barbados and also working with Paul McKenna while being filmed; and
(j)                   Those selected are likely to be required to feature on the programme on specified dates, including but not limited a date in January 2012 or such other date or dates as may be specified by the Promoter and/or producers.
 
Proof of eligibility may be required.
 
Failure to comply with the eligibility criteria as set out in these terms and conditions, and elsewhere as applicable or failure to comply with instructions and/or directions given or with these terms and conditions in any way may result in disqualification from the application. For the avoidance of doubt, if we suspect that a potential participant is not eligible to participate in this application, we reserve the right to terminate or suspend their further participation.
 
By submitting your application you agree to comply with these terms and conditions. You agree that you may be contacted by the producers, and that you be required for filming purposes and/or other appearances at any time for simultaneous or later broadcast in any media, and that your application may be published in all media, adapted, in whole or in part, or otherwise exploited in any manner, including but not limited to publication on www.itv.com (the “website”) in the Promoter’s sole discretion.
 
For the avoidance of doubt, the production team reserves the right to publish any applicant’s application for simultaneous or later broadcast in the programme or otherwise, in any media in whole or in part.
 
Application criteria:
Applications which are incomplete, incomprehensible, illegible, or which are received or submitted after the deadline for receipt of applications will be invalid and will not be considered.
 
Method of application:
Applicants must send an email to lorraine@itv.com providing their personal contact information including but not limited to full name, address, age, daytime contact number and a photo. Applicants are also required to submit their reason for wanting to apply (the “Submission(s)”). The Submission must be no more than 250 words long.
 
Please note that there is no other method of application other than as specified in these terms and conditions. The Promoter and the producers bear no responsibility for any application which is incorrectly submitted, lost due to technical problems, or damaged in any way. The Promoter and/or the producers will not acknowledge receipt of any application.
 
Cost of applying:
There is no charge for application but internet service provider’s fees may apply when accessing the internet.
 
Selection criteria:
Applications will be reviewed based on the selection criteria including without limitation whether they have a problem that Paul McKenna can help them with and whether they have an interesting life story that viewers of the programme can relate to.
 
Selection process:
The programme production team and Paul McKenna and his team will select the three most suitable applicants. The selection of these will be at their sole discretion and will be final. 
 
Each selected applicant will be contacted for confirmation of eligibility and compliance with the application criteria. Failure to comply with any criteria may result in disqualification of an applicant and another applicant being selected and contacted to become a selected applicant instead.
 
The producers will provide the selected applicants with:
 
  • Return economy class flights from an airport in London (subject to availability) (“London Airport”) to Grantley Adams International Airport, Barbados (“Barbados Airport”) in the week commencing 21 November 2011
  • Return travel for each of the selected applicants from the UK mainline station nearest to their home address to the London Airport (subject to availability);
  • Return ground transfers from Barbados Airport to their hotel accommodation;
  • Five (5) nights accommodation at a hotel in Barbados in a single room;
  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner on each day in Barbados; and
  • A standardreturn rail ticket from the UK mainline station nearest to the winner’s home address to London on a date in January 2012 or such other date or dates as may be specified by the Promoter and/or producers.
 
Please note that the successful applicant must be willing to travel to Barbados without family members or friends and that the flights will be economy class. It is the responsibility of the applicant to inform the producers of any wheelchair or similar access requirements and to adhere to any applicable health and safety guidelines.
                                                                                                                             
General:
By making an application you grant the Promoter permission to use the application in any way it wants. This means that the Promoter can use, edit, reproduce, record, modify, translate, distribute, play, perform, broadcast, make available and display your application (or part thereof) and/or prepare derivative works of the application by any medium or method whether now known or later developed, including without limitation on the website or any other website in its sole discretion anywhere in the world. The Promoter may also permit third parties to use the application. You acknowledge that neither you nor the nominee will receive any fee or royalty payment from the Promoter, producers or any third party for the consents and grants given by you and/or the nominee in relation to your application.
 
You confirm and agree that you are fully authorised and entitled to grant this permission. You agree to give us evidence of this authority and entitlement if requested by us. You agree to waive any moral rights that may exist in relation to your application. This means that you waive the right to complain about the way in which the Promoter and/or producers may edit, alter or use the application and that the Promoter and/or producers do not have to identify you. You may be required to provide your signatures to consent to licensing any additional rights which may be retained when taking up the prize.
 
The Promoter and/or producers do not guarantee, represent, undertake or warrant that they will contact every applicant and, where applicable, the nominee or broadcast or feature their application or otherwise exploit in any manner any content which may or may not include their application. Unless otherwise specified, the Promoter is not liable to refund any costs or expenses incurred in submitting the application including but not limited to internet access fees, any phone calls made, travel costs and accommodation, incidental costs, charges, fees, expenses and taxes.
