LORRAINE WOMAN OF THE YEAR AWARD: INTERACTION INFORMATION
Opening/closing date & time:
· Nomination period opens for nominations via online as stated on ‘Lorraine’ (the “programme”).
· Nomination period closes for entries via online at midday on Friday 16 September 2011.
· Vote opens for entries via online as stated in the programme.
· Vote closes for entries via online at 10.00 a.m. on Monday 17 October 2011.
Eligibility criteria:
Entrants and the person nominated by an entrant (the “nominee”) must meet the following criteria:
(a) Must be aged 18 or over;
(b) Must be a UK resident, meaning they must ordinarily be living in the UK for the duration of the competition;
(c) Must not be employed or engaged by the Promoter, programme producers (the “producers”) or companies within their group of companies or be a live-in partner or immediate relative (i.e. mother, father, son, daughter, brother or sister) of an employee of the Promoter, producers or persons professionally associated with the competition;
(d) Must disclose to the producers when asked, details of any and all convictions and actions pending against them currently and/or any unspent convictions other than driving offences which have not resulted in a ban. At the sole discretion of the producers, certain convictions or pending criminal proceedings against an entrant may invalidate their entry or otherwise result in the termination of their participation in the programme;
(e) Must be available to be contacted, and for filming purposes or otherwise on specified dates, including but not limited to dates during the period Monday 26 September 2011 and Friday 7 October 2011 inclusive or such other date or dates as may be specified by the Promoter and/or producers;
(f) The three finalists must be available to feature on the programme during the period Monday 10 October 2011 to Wednesday 12 October 2011 plus Monday 17 October 2011 and also attend the lunch (defined below) on Monday 17 October 2011; and
(g) The winner will be required to feature on the programme on Tuesday 18 October 2011.
Proof of eligibility may be required. Please note that entrants cannot nominate themselves.
Failure to comply with the eligibility criteria as set out in these terms and conditions, and elsewhere as applicable or failure to comply with instructions and/or directions given or with these terms and conditions in any way may result in disqualification from the competition. For the avoidance of doubt, if we suspect that an entrant and/or nominee is not eligible to participate in this competition, we reserve the right to terminate or suspend their further participation.
By entering this competition and nominating another person to take part in this competition you agree to comply with these terms and conditions, and you agree that you have the prior consent of the nominee. Failure to obtain such prior consent may result in disqualification from further participation in the competition. You further agree that you and/or the nominee may be contacted by the producers, and that you and/or the nominee may be required for filming purposes and/or other appearances at any time for simultaneous or later broadcast in any media, and that your entry may be published in all media, adapted, in whole or in part, or otherwise exploited in any manner, including but not limited to publication on www.itv.com (the “website”) in the Promoter’s sole discretion.If the nominee has not agreed to take part in filming and/or other appearances at any time for simultaneous or later broadcast in any media then this will result in the entry being disregarded from further participation in the competition.
For the avoidance of doubt, the production team reserves the right to publish any entrant’s entry and/or to film any entrant’s or where applicable the nominee’s appearance at any location at any time for simultaneous or later broadcast in the programme or otherwise, in any media in whole or in part. The selection process and the announcement of the winner may, in the sole discretion of the producers, be filmed on such dates as may be determined by the producers and broadcast on the programme and/or on the website at any time.
Entry criteria:
An entrant may submit one entry to this competition per phone number. Entries which are incomplete, incomprehensible, illegible, or which are received or submitted after the deadline for receipt of entries will be invalid and will not be considered.
Method of entry:
Go to the website at www.itv.com/lorraine (the “website”)and follow the instructions to access and complete the online nomination form. The entrant agrees that they will not submit any material which in any way infringes the copyright or other rights of a third party, or which infringes any applicable laws and that the information they provide is accurate and up to date. The entry must not contain any material which is in any way defamatory, obscene, unlawful, harmful, offensive or inappropriate or infringes the rights of a third party or may have the effect of being harassing, threatening, abusive or hateful or that otherwise degrades or intimidates an individual or group of individuals on the basis of religion, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, age or disability. The entrant agrees not to advertise or promote third parties' or their own goods or services within their entry. Any such entry will be deemed inappropriate and will not be considered.
Please note that there is no other method of entry other than as specified in these terms and conditions. The Promoter and the producers bear no responsibility for any entry which is incorrectly submitted, lost due to technical problems, or damaged in any way. The Promoter and/or the producers will not acknowledge receipt of any entry.
Cost of entry:
There is no charge for entry but internet service provider’s fees may apply when accessing the internet.
Selection criteria:
Entrants and the nomineemust meet the eligibility and entry criteria. Failure to meet the eligibility and entry criteria will result in the entry being disregarded from further participation in the competition. Entries will be judged based on the selection criteria including without limitation their personality, whether they are inspirational and how they have touched the lives of others.
Selection process:
The programme production team will select a shortlist of entries from the nominees they consider best meet the selection criteria (the “shortlisted entrants”). The production team’s selection of the shortlisted entrants will be at their sole discretion and will be final.
Each eligible shortlisted entrant will be judged by the judging panel (the “judging panel”) who will assess their online entries. The judging panel will consist of Lorraine Kelly and Baroness Helena Kennedy and the Promoter may choose it its sole discretion to add further judges to the judging panel prior to the judging of entries. One member of the judging panel will be nominated to be the head judge who will determine the outcome of the competition in the event of a tie or in the event that the outcome of the competition cannot be reasonably determined because of a technical failure or other circumstance beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter and/or the producers. The judging panel will, based on the selection criteria, select three (3) shortlisted entrants to become the finalists (the “finalists”). Each finalist will be contacted for confirmation of eligibility and compliance with the entry criteria. Failure to comply with any criteria may result in disqualification of a finalist and another finalist being selected by the panel from the semi-finalists and contacted to become a finalist instead. The finalists will then be entered into an online public vote on the website between Thursday 13 October 2011 and Monday 17 October (the “final”). The results of the final will be announced at the Lorraine Woman of the Year Awards lunch on Monday 17 October 2011 (the “lunch”). One night’s accommodation in a minimum 3-star London hotel on a room-only basis will be provided for each of the finalists on Sunday 16October 2011. One night’s accommodation in a minimum 3-star London hotel on a room-only basis will be provided for the winner on Monday 17October 2011. The producers will provide return travel for each of the finalists from the UK mainline station nearest to their home address to a station in London and return ground transfers from the train station in London to their hotel accommodation. Note that the semi-finalists and finalist will be required to participate in the programme and be filmed/photographed.
Please note that, unless otherwise specified, it is the responsibility of the entrant to arrange and pay for their own travel expenses to any location as specified for participation in the competition, as well as any accommodation expenses, parking costs, car hire, meals, drinks, excursions, treatments, telephone calls including local and long distance telephone calls, hotel charges, spending money, personal items, merchandise and souvenirs, incidental costs, visas, taxes, insurance and any other costs, charges, taxes or expenses which may be incurred when entering this competition. It is the responsibility of the entrant to inform the producers of any wheelchair or similar access requirements and to adhere to any applicable health and safety guidelines.
Prize:
The finalist who has the highest number of eligible votes on the website will be the winner of Lorraine Woman of the Year Award. The award is the title of or such other similar title as may be specified by the producers. The award excludes any associated costs and expenses which may be incurred in taking up the award.
General:
By making an entry you grant the Promoter permission to use the entry in any way it wants. This means that the Promoter can use, edit, reproduce, record, modify, translate, distribute, play, perform, broadcast, make available and display your entry (or part thereof) and/or prepare derivative works of the entry by any medium or method whether now known or later developed, including without limitation on the website or any other website in its sole discretion anywhere in the world. The Promoter may also permit third parties to use the entry. You acknowledge that neither you nor the nominee will receive any fee or royalty payment from the Promoter, producers or any third party for the consents and grants given by you and/or the nominee in relation to your entry.
You confirm and agree that you are fully authorised and entitled to grant this permission. You agree to give us evidence of this authority and entitlement if requested by us. You agree to waive any moral rights that may exist in relation to your entry. This means that you and, where applicable, the nominee waives the right to complain about the way in which the Promoter and/or producers may edit, alter or use the entry and that the Promoter and/or producers do not have to identify you or the nominee. You and where applicable the nominee may be required to provide your signatures to consent to licensing any additional rights which may be retained when taking up the prize.
The Promoter and/or producers do not guarantee, represent, undertake or warrant that they will contact every entrant and, where applicable, the nominee or broadcast or feature their entry or otherwise exploit in any manner any content which may or may not include their entry. Unless otherwise specified, the Promoter is not liable to refund any costs or expenses incurred in entering the competition including but not limited to internet access fees, any phone calls made, travel costs and accommodation, incidental costs, charges, fees, expenses and taxes.
