Back in April 2011, to celebrate the Royal Wedding, This Morning online gave one lucky winner the chance to win their dream wedding and on November 4th 2011– it came true!
Marisha McGhie had been with her now husband for 8 years and hadn’t given much thought about their wedding day until they got the phone call saying they’d won!
‘By saying we were surprised was an understatement as we had never won anything before!! Being both from New Zealand, we immediately phoned our parents to make sure they would make the long haul over to attend the wedding, they were absolutely delighted and from then on it was all systems go!’ claims Marisha.
Marisha was the lucky bride who had been picked randomly from over 7000 entrants. Her wedding package consisted of a number of different elements from a range of different prize providers.
The Radisson Blu Hotel in Cardiff provided the venue and meals. A bespoke cake was provided by the Yummy Cake company, rings from Wedding Rings Direct, Wine and champagne from Virgin Wines, invites from Confetti, photography from Imagine That studios and of course the perfect wedding dress that Marisa just ‘fell in love with’ was provided by The Bridal Wear Company.
Marisa couldn’t praise these enough, from the delicious three course meal to the ‘pair of Geniuses’ Keith and Elise who created the fantastic wedding photos seen in our gallery. Plus she wanted to thank all the suppliers including Joanna from the Yummy Cake company, Julian from Wedding Rings Direct and staff from the Bridal Wear company who provided her amazing wedding dress.
However, behind the scenes pulling the whole thing together was Stacey from the company who arranged the prize, Rebecca Garrett Media, and Raluca from the Radisson Blu Hotel.
‘We won a number of prizes that contributed to making our wedding day unforgettable however we couldn’t have made it all possible within our six month timeframe if it hadn’t of been for two key people whom were Stacey Sumner and Raluca Milea. Stacey co-ordinated every detail of the ‘wedding prize package’ for us, she contacted every sponsor and organised each gruelling detail. Raluca Milea from the Radisson Blu Hotel went above and beyond her role, I can’t even begin to explain in words how much she did to make our day unforgettable.’ says Marisha. ‘People always asked me why I wasn’t stressed in the lead up to the big day….I guess this is because I was lucky enough to effectively have two wedding planners.’
‘All in all it was a fabulous day and was enjoyed by all. Thank you again ITV for making it all possible, by winning the wedding package it allowed us to spend that little bit extra on details we would not have normally been able to afford and thus made our wedding that extra bit special.’
