WorkingFamilies is the UK’s leading work-life balance organisation. The charity helps working parents and carers and their employers find a better balance between responsibilities at home and work. Our free Legal Helpline gives parents and carers advice on employment rights such as maternity and paternity leave, rights to time off in an emergency, and parental leave, as well as helping them to negotiate the flexible hours they want. We can also give basic advice on the benefits and tax credits that working parents can claim. We also give advice on maternity discrimination and pregnancy discrimination.
One Space is the parenting site for single parents. It offers an online community for single parents with support from experienced parenting facilitators and brings together essential information, interactive learning games, multi-media content, links to other support organisations and news. The online groups also act as a support group, where people can gain information and support from others who have been through similar experiences - a lifeline to many who unexpectedly find themselves to be single parents. One Space aims to be the first port of call for single parents online.
One Space is delivered bythe Single ParentAction Network (SPAN).

The Salvation Army has a long history of working with people who are vulnerable and marginalised across the world and offer very practical help, unconditional assistance and support regardless of race, religion, gender or sexuality, respecting the identity and choices of all those referred to them. Anyone can find themselves facing grief and despair. Family breakdown, unemployment, poverty, homelessness, and drug and alcohol dependency are just some of the reasons why people can lose everything they value, including their dignity. In the Salvation Army we don't judge or condemn. We just help. In the UK and Republic of Ireland there are more than 800 Salvation Army social service centres and churches (corps). We run 120 drop-in centres offering support and help for people in need and serve 3,000,000 meals every year at community and residential centres.
