So, to celebrate the recent news that Martini is back in style, mixologist Tony Adams is here with some fun facts about delicious contemporary cocktails made from iconic drinks of the 70's.
Martini
There are 3 varieties of Martini:
* Martini Bianco - this has a milder aroma with a hint of vanilla and spice. Best enjoyed with soda or lemonade.
* Martini Extra Dry - characterized by very low sugar content. Best enjoyed with soda or lemonade.
* Martini Rosso - sweet and pleasantly bitter. Best enjoyed with cranberry juice or ginger ale
Babycham
* A sparkling perry launched in 1952, Babycham was the first alcoholic drink aimed at women in an era when wine was not commonly available in the country's pubs.
* In November last year it was revealed that sales had soared by 50% in 2011.
Campari
* Campari is a bitter Italian aperitif made according to a secret recipe originally developed in 1860 by Gaspare Campari in Milan.
Advocaat
* Advocaat is a rich and creamy liqueur from Holland made from eggs, sugar and brandy. It is enjoyed in many cocktails as well as neat or on the rocks.
