Nutrition Bites with Madeleine Shaw

We all get bombarded with headlines about the latest celebrity diet, miracle ingredient or food fad, but how do we know what really works?

To help us make sense of it all, Madeleine Shaw joins us for her first TM appearance in the kitchen - Nutrition Bites. We'll talk through the latest nutrition news, taste the new faddy food - flavoured waters - and get recipes for her favourite brain-boosting revision/desk snacks.

Plus, ahead of the half-term holidays, Madeleine's got five easy tips to help relieve that bloated feeling, in days!

Warm buttermilk pan scones with clotted cream

Phil whips up delicious warm buttermilk pan scones with clotted cream using a simple tasty recipe.

He says: " I have given measured weights, but you can just add the flour to the buttermilk, egg and baking powder until you have a thickish batter if its easier. The secret is to not overwork the gluten in the flour, or the scones will be tough and chewy."

Get festival ready with Phil's breakfast hash

Today we've sent Phil Vickery on a field trip (well, a patio trip, at least). He'll be cooking up some incredible breakfast hash - perfect for any al fresco dining.

Phil says: "This dish is a bit of a mish-mash, and doesn’t look particularly nice but I think its very satisfying to eat, and its a great one pan dish.

The secret here is to prepare everything before you go, so you have to concentrate on is the cooking!"

We need you to put lunch pots to the taste test

Whether you're a busy parent on the go, or you need a quick lunchtime snack for work, one-pot lunches are all the rage and a very convenient way to eat. They’re quick, easy and perfect for those who want to cut back on spending too much money. They also save on washing up!

But do they actually taste any good? Do they fill you up and give you the energy to get through the afternoon and more importantly are they a healthy option?

Well, we'd like your help to answer these questions. We're putting the lunch pot to the taste test and we need some volunteers to try them out.

Are you available to take part over the next few days to film your feedback on a couple of lunchtime snacks, that we'll send you? If so, please email us at thismorning@itv.com, along with your name, age, location and a brief line about why you'd like to be a taste test buddy for us. Your email needs to be in by midday on Friday 15 May 2015.
