The Burned Children's Club is a registered charity that was founded in as a way of giving much-needed support to young burn survivors and their families.  Our service is all about burn survivors and their families. Using a fun, recreational approach, we promote self-esteem and help children come to terms with their altered body image. Support is also essential to parents and siblings as they too need help to adjust to the trauma.   As well as ongoing mutual support, we also arrange fun confidence-building events, such as Regional Camps, summer BBQs and festive Christmas parties for burn survivors and their families

Provides free help, support and information for children (and their parents) and adults who have any form of disfigurement. The aim is to build effective coping strategies and self-confidence. It also works with healthcare professionals, schools and others to promote awareness about disfigurement and its effects, as well as information and advice for employers to encourage equal opportunities in the workplace and advice for health-care professionals in developing new models of health-care.

British Red Cross  - Skin Camouflage Service

For people with scars or other disfiguring skin conditions, skin camouflage can offer a simple route to improved confidence and independence. Our trained volunteers can teach people how to self-apply specialist cover creams.  There are 250 skin camouflage clinics across the UK, primarily in NHS hospital dermatology departments but also Red Cross premises.

The foundation also aims to offer non-medical advice to empower people and build up their confidence by showing them how to look and feel their best again. This would include professional lessons on camouflage makeup and hair styling as well as a mentorship program that brings burns survivors together to support each other.
