I've scoured design showrooms to find products that will enhance the friendly feel of the This Morning set.

Hi folks! While you were all out partying for the New Year, my design team and I were busy working towards this new season with a fresh look in our Central chat area.

The biggest change on screen are the exciting new sofas especially made for us by DFS. My thanks to their team for being so helpful and accommodating to the various design requirements that I have thrown at them. The end result is a vibrant new shape in a lively plumb shade which sit very well in our cosy chat area.

The flower cushions (Harlequin Hemosa pink) and the lovely grey Home cushions are both from John Lewis. The new fresh wallpaper with flowers on a sand background is from Nina Campbell Malleny at Osborne and Little and hera lds the approach of spring, only a couple of months away.

We also put in two new sets in September last year. The new Hub look was started a few months back with a look around the Apple Stores and various internet cafe lounges. The brief was to make The Hub high tech, modern but friendly so after several ideas, I came up with the visual that Fiona Keenaghan our Head of Daytime and Karl Newton our Exec Producer liked.

My aim was to create a central, heart-like consul where all the interactivity takes place and to play with light, hence the circular high desk which is internally lit with a great digital clock from Contemporary Heaven. The walls are an interplay between cherry wood for warmth and stainless steel for modernity with light strips to liven the overall effect. Our wall plasmas from Samsung are top of the range Smart TVs sleek and really slimline. The touchscreen is fun and interactive.

The Kitchen is a new product placement collaboration with B&Q who have given us a fab Cooke and Lewis kitchen in Farleigh oak and High Gloss Aubergine, I really like the mix of the two finishes which is very on trend. Our smart appliances are from Smeg at B&Q including the new style fridge. The dressing come from Habitat with a few key pieces from Heals, with the kettle and toaster both from Morphy Richards at B&Q and our kMix kenwood mixer is good for all baking items. The herbs and pots are from B&Q, not sure how long they will last under our bright studio lights, but the are lovingly watered twice a week and give our kitchen the great smell of rosemary and thyme. The illy Francis Francis X7.1 espresso machine makes good morning coffee and has a great retro shape. Most coveted item... the Robert Welch knives block.

My thanks still go out to Roche Bobois for their great shelf units in the Study together the lovely Lighthouse standing lamp from Innermost and our chairs from Boss Design which have all lasted several seasons and still look fresh and contemporary. We also owe a big thanks to Orla Kiely (contact BlissHome) whose fabulous prints adorn our Study cushions and colourful rug, and who also provide the sleek and modern sideboard in our Central area.
