Contraceptive implants for 12 year olds: too much too young?
New figures have revealed that more than 10,500 underage girls have been given contraceptive implants on the NHS in the past two years.
With some girls aged as young as 12 being given the implants without their parents' knowledge, today we’re asking: is it right to give contraception to underage girls? Should parents be told what their children are up to? And with free contraceptives given out to minors, is this just encouraging underage sex?
Joining us to debate the subject are mum of two Rebecca Jane and mum of three Rachel Halliwell whilst Dr Sara Kayat is on hand to give her medical opinion.
