Remember, deals can change quickly, even while I’m on the programme. So always double-check the terms and conditions before spending. Plus, while I hope these deals will save you cash, don’t spend if you can’t afford it, don’t need it, or won’t use it.
Car insurance at renewal? Check out your insurer's old price
For the first time, this month, when you get a car insurance renewal quote your insurer must now show you last year's price, making it easier to see how much it's upping your premium. As renewal's are almost always pricier than new customer deals, it's another reason never to accept its quote.
Instead do what Barry did: "Quoted £1,100, up from £874 last year. Compared and paid £484, yippee."
Check for hot deals comparisons miss, including free £60 M&S voucher. Some deals aren't on comparison sites, eg via certain sites Age UK offers a £60 M&S voucher or go direct to Co-op and you can get a £50 food voucher. Plus, big insurers Aviva and Direct Line are never listed on comparisons, so check them directly.
Try counter-logical tricks. It's all about risk averages and 'actuarial' tables, which can lead to bizarre ways to save. Use trial and error to see if comprehensive's cheaper than 3rd party and if tweaking your job description cuts the price. Adding extra drivers can cut costs too,if they're a lower risk than you. This is especially strong if you're a young driver adding a responsible older driver, but everyone should try it.
Don't want to switch? Haggle. This works best at renewal. Simply find the best price, then ask your provider to beat or match it. Sarah emailed: “Negotiated mine from £1,000+ to £595 with my current insurer. Thanks."

Summer Theme Park discounts
If you’re planning on a trip to a theme park this summer, there are two deals on right now, which with a bit of forward planning can save you £50ish+ per person on each visit…
2for1 at Merlin Attractions
Buy promotional packs of Kellogs cereal - including Rice Krispies, Frosties, Crunchy Nut and Squares, normally £2-4ish at supermarkets - and on the box there’s an ‘adult goes free’ voucher that works at 30 Merlin attractions across England and Scotland (there aren’t any in Wales or Northern Ireland), such as Legoland, Alton Towers, Thorpe Park, Sea Life Centres, Madame Tussauds and The Dungeons. The voucher works when you buy a full-priced ticket (adult or child) at the entrance gate, which can cost over £50, so this effectively is a 2for1 deal. In fact, it actually works out better if you’re an adult going with a child as child tickets tend to be cheaper. The voucher’s valid until 30 June 2018, so stock up now to use for the summer. There are some excluded dates.
£51 for unlimited Thorpe Park entry
Until this Sunday (23 April) on the Thorpe Park website you can get 26% of its an annual pass, so it’s £51.50, instead of the normal £70. This makes the annual pass £1 cheaper than the price of a normal one-day on-the-gate adult ticket, which costs £52.50 – so definitely worth getting compared to the 2for1 as long as you’d go twice.
5 pizzas for £2.25
Currently there’s special promotionalpacks ofDr Oetker Ristorante pizzas (it’ll say ‘Make Midweek Matter’ on the box) that have a code inside which’ll give you access to print a £1 off coupon on its website. And until Wednesday 3 May Asda’s reduced the pizza to £1.25 from £2.50. So go there and buy a promotional pizza for £1.25 then print of the coupon to get £1 of your second one, making that 25p. You can do this up to four times per household – so you get 5 pizzas for £2.25. Morrison’s also has the Pizza on sale at £1.50, until next Sunday (30 April).
