Abi Stroud can’t find a boyfriend — because she’s ashamed of eating only chips and cheese.
The 18-year-old says she has never found love because she is embarrassed about her bizarre condition, Selective Eating Disorder. Abi scoffs three blocks of mature cheddar and three bags of chips a week, and has panic attacks at the thought of munching fruit and veg.
New foods terrify her and the sight of a banana being peeled makes her gag. She can eat white bread — but only one brand.
Abi joins us today to explain her condition alongside Dr Nihara Krause, consultant clinical psychologist and lecturer in eating disorders.
