Giving a rare insight into how his son James's murder tore his family apart, Ralph Bulger talks exclusively on the anniversary of his son's death.
The terrible abduction and murder of two-year-old James Bulger in 1993 by Jon Venables and Robert Thompson, aged just 10, caused widespread public anger and shock.
Twenty years on, James's Dad Ralph, now 46, has relived his horror in a new book, My James. He admits how in his darkest moments he blamed ex-wife Denise - a reaction which now makes him feel deeply ashamed - and reveals his struggle to cope, turning to alcohol and thoughts of suicide.
Ralph also talks about the subsequent events regarding Venables and Thompson's release and Venables' return to prison.
