Last Sunday, thirty-year-old Claire Squires joined 37,500 people running the 31st London Marathon, but tragically did not make it to the finishing line.
Claire collapsed as she ran along Birdcage Walk, just one mile short of completing the 26.2 mile run.
Hairdresser Claire was raising money for the Samaritans, a charity for which her mother had volunteered for 24 years. And since the tragic event last Sunday, Claire's Just Giving donations page has been inundated with people wanting to donate to the cause.
She originally wanted to raise £500, today the amount of money pledged is close to the £1million mark.
Joining us in the studio today are Claire's friends Nicola Short and Lucy Marlowe to tell us how proud she would have been to have raised so much money for a cause close to her heart.
