After the success of Text Santa last year, ITV's charity fundraising appeal is back with a bang!
In the run up to Christmas, we're taking a closer look at the charities that the Text Santa campaign supports to provide help to those most vulnerable at Christmas.
Thursday 20th: Age UK works to help elderly people all over the country. So, we decided to give them a special treat, and sent chef Rosemary Shrager along to one of their centres to cook them up a Christmas treat.
Wednesday 19th: Together for Short Lives help fund hospices and takes care of sick children. As a special treat this Christmas, Stacey Solomon took two of the families who use one of their 49 hospices on a magical journey to meet Father Christmas.
Tuesday 18th: We meet Carers UK, to see how their support to carers all over the country really does make a difference.
Monday 17th: We're continuing our look at the difference the Text Santa charities make to people's lives. And we meet Bengu Shail, who was diagnosed with leukaemia three years ago. She tells us how the Anthony Nolan Trust haven't given up in their quest to find her a bone marrow donor, and the support they continue to give her.
Friday 14th: We're looking at Age UK, and we hear from Patrick Adlam, who knows only too well how important the work they do is.
Thursday 13th: Together for Short Lives is the leading UK charity for all children with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions and all those who support, love and care for them. They support families, professionals and services, including children's hospices. Their work helps to ensure that children can get the best possible care, wherever and whenever they need it. Our film looks at Vanessa Johnson, mum to seven-year-old Jayden, who tells us how the charity has changed their family's life.
Wednesday 12th: This Morning are supporting the ITV-wide Text Santa appeal, raising money for many charities this Christmas. One of those charities is Marie Curie Cancer Care, and we meet Chris Gibson who tells us how the charity has been a lifeline.
Tuesday 11th: As the lead-up to Text Santa, we're looking at how some of the money can make a difference. In this instalment, we see how the charity Whizkids has changed one man's life.
