To celebrate 50 years of James Bond on the silver screen, Christie's and EON (the people who make Bond) are offering a one-off opportunity for fans to bid on 50 lots from the EON archives.
So our man, Fox, Silver Fox met with Christie's Nicolette Tomkinson and EON Productions' Archive Director Meg Simmonds, to receive a full briefing on some of the classic items you could set your sights on.
So feast your eyes on the clapperboard used in Pierce Brosnan’s first Bond movie GoldenEye and Daniel Craig’s tuxedo from the latest movie Skyfall. Phillip also investigates the contents of M’s (played by Dame Judi Dench) desk; the tarot cards Bond uses to seduce Solitaire in Live and Let Die, and (start counting the 00s in your bank account) an Aston Martin as driven by Daniel Craig from Quantum of Solace.
Prices range from £1,000 to £150,000 and twelve charities will benefit from the auction including UNICEF, Barnardo’s, The Art Fund, and Women For Women. The online-only sale at www.christies.com/bond runs from 28 Sept until 8 Oct. The live, invitation-only evening auction (telephone/online bids accepted) of 10 star lots is on Global James Bond Day, 5th October.
