Hairdresser to the stars Leo Bancroft is on hand to help with one of the most common side effects of cancer treatment - hair loss and regrowth.

From easy to maintain hairstyles to getting the most out of new hair and finding that natural-looking wig, Leo will have the perfect looks for our three cancer survivors Debbie, Janet and Doris.

Leo writes: Well I had an amazing time with my three lovely makeover ladies Debbie, Janet and Doris as they have all had various types of hair problems after intensive cancer treatment. I was also overwhelmed with the response in The Hub by the questions and uncertainty from you about what you should and shouldn't do with your hair through this difficult time.

So I have blogged the following to help you and if you have an other questions just simply send me a tweet @leobancroft with #askleo and i will happy to help as many people as possible.

  • The wig I used on Doris was from the Sentoo collection at www.trendco.co.uk. Please ask your hairdresser to thin out the front hairline of the wigs for an ultimate natural feel.
  • Always choose a lace front wig, They are more expensive However they really are incredibly natural.
  • I advise you wait six months for your hair to fully restore before bleaching or adding extensions. Tints can be applied earlier but I advise organic during this time.
  • Wear a hairnet at night during treatment so you don't wake up with a pillow covered in hair this can be upsetting.
  • Your hair is more likely than not to grow back completely after chemotherapy but maybe completely different. Therefore products and brushes you use will need to be different.

Always Here to help
