We team up with Make-A-Wish UK to make a Week of Wishes come true
I really hope that we can help to put heaps of smiles on the faces of these deserving children - and their families - this Christmas
– Holly Willoughby
This Morning is joining forces with leading wish-granting charity Make-A-Wish® UK for our special Week of Wishes appeal.
From 12 December, this special week - and donations raised during the week - could help hundreds of seriously ill children and their families who turn to Make-A-Wish UK to have their one true wish granted during uncertain times in their lives. Together with Make-A Wish UK, we'll discover and help grant wishes to enrich the lives of those fighting life-threatening conditions.
Why wishes are important
When a child is fighting a life-threatening condition, their future is uncertain. Their whole family’s world is turned upside down. That’s why wishes are so important, particularly around Christmas time. Once their most cherished wish is granted, a child will see that anything is possible. It gives them and their family the emotional strength they need to fight their condition and hope to face their future - whatever it might hold.
A word from Phillip and Holly
Phillip said, “This is a fantastic charity and both Holly and I know only too well how thoughtful and generous our viewers can be when they see and hear stories of those in need, so I’m sure they’ll help us to provide some fantastic wishes.”
Holly added, “It’s a wonderful cause to be involved in. I really hope that by raising awareness during this week on This Morning we can help to put heaps of smiles on the faces of these deserving children - and their families - this Christmas.”
This Morning’s editor Martin Frizell said, “Our viewers are incredible and I have every faith they will get behind this appeal.”
