Gary Imlach has covered the Tour de France for more than 20 years, and has seen some sensational stories down the years.

Here he insists that the TV coverage can only tackle the stories head on, rather than pretending that doping does not exist in cycling.

Imlach remembers the infamous Festina affair of 1998 - plus Operacion Puerto in 2006 - two incidents that are seen as chances for cycling to start afresh - chances which many people think were not taken.
