HTC - Highroad's Mark Cavendish has hit out at the other teams saying they have no confidence in their sprinters and his team are left to lead the sprint stages.

The Manxman won his fourth stage of this year's Tour de France and the 19th of his career and he credits his team-mates faith in him for the latest victory.

Cavendish said: "I always say I can't let the guys down when they ride like that. I think the fact the other sprint teams don't ride, they don't have confidence in the sprinters."

"I think the reason my guys ride is because they have confidence in me, the reason the director says ride is because he has confidence.

"It was incredible. The guys rode all day. The first half we worked with Europcar, they were riding really strong, but the second half we were on our own. The guys are like motorbikes"

The Stage win means Cavendish is now on 319 points, 37 ahead of Jose Joaquin Rojas in the race for the green jersey.

Cavendish took the stage in the sprint finish after being delivered to the front by Mark Renshaw with 300 metres to go after another perfect set-up by his HTC-Highroad team-mates.

He added: "It was an incredibly difficult finish but the guys just kept it together with incredible discipline and I'm just so proud of them.
