Mark Cavendish has said it is "incredibly humbling" to have the green jersey competition redesigned with him in mind this year.
The Director of the Tour de France, Christian Prudhomme, said on Friday that it would not be right if a sprinter of Cavendish's calibre did not win the green jersey.
And the Manxman remains in pole position for the jersey as he is on 264 points, 13 ahead of Jose Joaquin Rojas. Cavendish, though, is also wary of the Begian Philippe Gilbert who is currently third in the race for the green jersey with 240 points.
Cavendish said: "It's incredibly humbling for me. It really means a lot (what Prudhomme said) but Gilbert is fighting like a man possessed to get it so nothing is guaranteed. We just keep having to plug away and see what happens."
Ivan Basso, meanwhile, has said there is still a lot to do but is feeling good after finishing 11th in Stage 14 and the Italian is currently fifth overall.
