King of the Mountains Johnny Hoogerland said he is still feeling the after-effects of his awful crash on Sunday, but was lifted by the "fantastic" support shown to him by fans as he battled through Stage 10.
Despite that Hoogerland admitted his continued presence in the peloton was still in doubt, after suffering pain in his stitched up legs throughout the day.
"In the hotel I'm going to look again how it is, because I had some pain," he told ITV's Ned Boulting. "It was a good ride today but it was not easy."
Meanwhile the GC leader Thomas Voeckler said he was a little disappointed not to have extended his lead at the top of the standings, after carving out a lead over the peloton towards the end of the stage.
"When I saw that there was a gap between us and the pack I tried to ride," Voeckler admitted. "But I didn't give all I can because I was afraid that the pack would just pass through me and I wouldn't be able to follow them."
