The 2011 Tour has thrown up some memorable performances, but none more so than those of Thor Hushovd, who claimed his second stage win this year after a superb descent from Col de Manse. Judge Stephen Farrand explains:
"Thor Hushovd could have taken it easy at the Tour de France after his long spell in the yellow jersey and his stage victory in Lourdes but he again honoured his world champion's jersey by going on the attacking the terrible weather conditions.
"With Ryder Hesjedal taking third and playing a key role in the stage victory, it was another great day for the Garmin-Cervelo team."
