ITV's Gary Imlach chats to Team Sky's Bradley Wiggins, as the British rider reflects on the crash in which he sustained a broken collarbone and was forced out of the 2011 Tour.
"We were travelling about 60-65kph and the road just ever so slightly funnelled down," Wiggins said in an interview by telephone. "The riders in front of me started coming together, touching handlebars and a few went down and I was caught up in that."
Wiggins admitted he had attempted to get back on the bike, but the injuries he sustained were so bad he could hardly stand up.
"I literally couldn't get off the ground," he continued. "My instinct was to get back on the bike...but I couldn't bend my arm out and that's when the doctor said it was over."
