Jens Voigt is more eager than ever to reach Paris after surviving two crashes on an action-packed Stage 14 for the German veteran.
Voigt twice came off his bike on a descent through the Pyrenees, but made it safely back into the peloton and was even able to help his Leopard Trek team-mates Andy and Frank Schleck to attack in the latter stages of the day.
But Voigt admitted he was glad to have got back in the saddle and hoped to remain "crash free" from hereon in, as a horror crash two years ago ended his Tour.
"Stuff like that happens sometimes," Voigt said. "I had a stupid crash two years ago and I don't want to go out of the Tour de France after a stupid crash - I want to see Paris."
He added: "I never like descents so I try to be more careful, but it's part of your job."
