Mark Cavendish praised his Dimension Data teammates after his victory in the opening stage of the Tour de France.
Cavendish, whose team supports the Qhubeka charity which distributes bikes in Africa, said: "I'm so, so happy. I really wanted to win today. The lads were incredible. To see Edvald (Boasson Hagen) do the most incredible turn... we didn't want him to lose any time because he can win tomorrow but he went out of his skin today.
"I'm so happy to do this with Dimension Data. There's no better way to highlight the Qhubeka charity, to put 5,000 kids on bikes than by wearing the yellow jersey, the most iconic in cycling."
