Tour de France leader Chris Froome told ITV that his tough day during Stage 13 was a reminder how tough the race is.
The current wearer lost time after a break away from the Saxo team, which resulted in a win for fellow British rider Mark Cavendish.
“It’s another reminder to us that this race is far far from over. We’ll need every second we can get.
“When that split went it was really only the first 15 riders of the peloton who got across there. I think Cavendish was the final guy to get in, so when I saw that I saw back and waited for my team to regroup.”
