The team Mark Cavendish hopes will propel him to the Tour de France yellow jersey has been named.
World time-trial champion Tony Martin of Germany, Frenchmen Sylvain Chavanel and Jerome Pineau, Poland's Michal Kwiatkowski, Belgium's Gert Steegmans, Holland's Niki Terpstra, Italian Matteo Trentin and Peter Velits of Slovakia complete the Omega Pharma-Quick Step nine-man team, the Belgian squad has announced.
Cavendish is the undisputed leader of the squad for the Tour, which begins in Corsica on June 29, with the Manxman among the favourites to take the opening stage and with it the race leader's yellow jersey.
Cavendish has led the Giro d'Italia and Vuelta a Espana, but a stint in the Tour's fabled maillot jaune has so far proved elusive.
Thereafter stage wins and a possible tilt at the points classification green jersey he won in 2011 will be Cavendish's aim.
The 28-year-old from the Isle of Man has 23 Tour stage wins to his name and claimed three in 2012 as part of a Team Sky squad whose ambitions were all about overall success, achieved through Sir Bradley Wiggins.
Now Cavendish's aims are his team's priority as the Manxman bids to add to his prolific haul in cycling's most prestigious race, with his squad believing there are seven sprint stages in all en route to Paris on July 21.
Omega Pharma-Quick Step sport and development manager Rolf Aldag said: "The team will be built mainly around Mark Cavendish. Cav is there to try and win stages, and of course one of the big goals of Mark is to go for the yellow jersey on the first day.
"Mark will be able to count on the same leadout of the Giro d'Italia. They are already tested in race situations and will be ready again."
