Team Sky rider Chris Froome understands he has an important role to play if Bradley Wiggins is to win the Tour de France this year.

"I know my role in the team. I know everyone in this team situation needs to buy into the team plan in order for it to succeed," Froome told ITV Sport's Ned Boulting.

"I know that when my time comes, everyone in that team will be there support me."
