Bradley Wiggins and Cadel Evans, winners of the last two Tours de France, gave contrasting views on the 2013 race as the route was announced, with Evans considerably more upbeat than his British counterpart.
"I think it's a tough route," Wiggins admitted after the route was unveiled in Paris. "The Tour's never easy, there's always something to challenge everybody so it's going to be an interesting one."
Meanwhile 2011 maillot jaune Cadel Evans suggested he might be ready for another assault on the general classification in 2013, stating: "I think it suits me a little bit better than 2012."
