Such is Team Sky's strength in depth, that it can roll out not one, but two bona fide GC contenders in 2013 (as it did in 2012, when Bradley Wiggins and Chris Froome finished first and second respectively; either man could have won the race) – Chris Froome is the British team's leader and a hot favourite for the yellow jersey, party because he will be supported all the way by his good friend Richie Porte.
Porte is a brilliant all-round rider in his own right, and a potential Grand Tour winner in the next few seasons. His form in 2013 has been rock-solid, with a win in the Paris-Nice Classic and second places in the Criterium International and the Criterium du Dauphine. If anything happens to Froome, Sky will throw its considerable might behind the popular Tasmanian. Even if Froome stays fit, Porte is a good bet to make the podium too.
