2015 Tour Stage 19 reaction: Froome upbraids 'unsportsmanlike' Nibali for sneak attack

Race leader Chris Froome accused 2014 Tour winner Vincenzo Nibali of "unsportsmanlike" behaviour for mounting an attack on him at precisely the moment when he was suffering from a mechanical. Nibali made the attack stick to win Stage 19 (watch highlights).

However, Froome's grip on the yellow jersey is still very strong with only one mountain stage to come before Paris.

One more major test stands between Chris Froome and a second Tour de France title - but Nairo Quintana will push the Briton all the way up Alpe-d'Huez on Saturday.

Froome (Team Sky) had made serene progress until Friday's 138-kilometres 19th stage from Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne to La Toussuire when his rivals managed to expose him, and Quintana (Movistar) trimmed his overall advantage to two minutes 38 seconds.

Vincenzo Nibali (Astana) won, claiming some consolation for his poor title defence, after making his initial move when Froome adjusted his bike after a mechanical stop on the Col de la Croix de Fer.

UCI deny Astana have been stripped of WorldTour licence

The International Cycling Union and Astana Pro Team have dismissed a report that the team of 2014 Tour de France winner Vincenzo Nibali have been stripped of their WorldTour licence by the Independent Licence Commission.

Last month the UCI requested that Astana's licence be revoked by the commission following an independent audit into their procedures, which came after a number of anti-doping infringements by Astana and their feeder team.
