- Ian Payne
Ian joined ITV Tyne Tees in 1992 and during his career worked as a sports correspondent and presenter before becoming a main programme presenter in 2006.
A strong supporter of Disability Sport, Ian is a regional ambassador for the English Federation of Disability Sport, and a Patron of Percy Hedley School.
In 2008 Ian was honoured by Northumbria University for ‘Distinguished Services to Sport’ and in 2009 he was named ‘Best Presenter’ by the Royal Television Society North East and Cumbria.
His first TV appearance was as a contestant on Blockbusters.
- Pam Royle
Pam began her career as Weather Presenter for Tyne Tees TV and then trained as a journalist with ITN. She has worked for ITN, LWT, Central TV and TVam.
Pam presents the evening news flagship programme, and during her time with ITV she has produced and presented many news, current affairs and feature items and documentaries.
She is patron of several charities including Great North Air Ambulance, St. John Ambulance, ,the Sunshine Fund, Make a Child Smile, Cash for Kids, Acorns, Hungry to be Heard, Making a Difference and NELD.(North East Ladies Day)
She’s a regular jet ski-ier and is soon to take her power boat test.
- Helen Pearson
Helen Pearson has worked for 6 years as a reporter and presenter for ITV regional news. She grew up in Cornwall and studied in Birmingham and Falmouth beginning her career in Plymouth. She made the move North in 2007. Helen is a keen marathon runner and loves the seaside.
- Philippa Tomson
Philippa started her journalism career with the Midlands-based Express & Star newspaper when she was 18-years-old and moved to ITV Central in 2002.
She worked as a producer and reporter before becoming a permanent part of the presenting team.
In 2006, she joined North East Tonight as a co-anchor before becoming the face of the weather for North East Tonight and Lookaround in early 2009.
She is patron of two North East charities, has her own weekly newspaper column and can be heard as a regular guest host on Metro Radio.
- Simon O'Rourke
Simon joined the sport department at ITV Tyne Tees from Century Radio in 1996 and is now the face of sport for the North East and Cumbria.
Simon’s love of sport, especially football, is all-consuming and leaves him little time for anything else except his young family.
- Gerry Foley
Gerry is originally from Ireland, and graduated in Economics and Politics at Trinity College Dublin.
He worked for the Irish broadcasting company, RTE, then moved to Belfast in the mid 1980s as Ireland Correspondent for TVam.
Gerry moved to London in 1988 as TVam’s Chief Political Correspondent.
He had a year out at the University of Chicago in 1992, then joined Tyne Tees as Political Editor in 1993.
Gerry’s interests – outside politics – include theatre, comedy and quality TV drama. He’s also a big sports fan, especially rugby and football.
