Pensioner trapped

A disabled pensioner has become a 'prisoner' in her Lelant home after a coastal path was fenced off without prior warning. Hayle harbour owners ING cordoned off the popular route from Dynamite Quay amid fears that it may collapse and further expose buried asbestos.

But for 87 year old Ruth Aspinall the path was a lifeline. Her car has been trapped at the end of it for more than a week and she has been unable to leave her home.
