History offers mixed omens after Neymar blow

As soon as Neymar's injury fate was confirmed the comparisons were made.

"Remember 1962," Carlos Alberto told the millions watching on Brazilian television as they contemplated the impact of fighting for the World Cup without their star player.

Stars support Neymar after World Cup woe

From Roberto Carlos to Mario Balotelli and LeBron James to Gisele, the football world and beyond has been sending messages of support to Neymar after injury ended his World Cup.

The Brazil superstar was inundated with tweets after it was announced he broke a bone in his back in the team's 2-1 quarter-final victory over Colombia.

Neymar's tournament ended after being kneed in the back late on in the second half.
