"The Group of Death". It was supposed to be the end of the USA's stay in the World Cup. Facing Portugal, Germany and Ghana -- the latter of whom had beaten them in the previous two World Cups, it was always likely to be difficult, but not impossible.

Beating Ghana and drawing with Portugal, it proved enough to coast them through in second place where they will now face Belgium. Having beaten the Belgians 3-0 in the 1930 World Cup, a more pertinent question arises: Which surprise players could help the USA pull off another shock result?
