In the summer of 1986, Diego Maradona was, to use the football cliché, unplayable – as unplayable as any player in World Cup history.
England found this out the hard way in the infamous 'Hand of God' quarter-final, then El Diego beat Belgium on his own – and this time hands-free, with two gorgeous goals (watch the video below) – to lead Argentina to the final, where they beat West Germany 3-2.
In short, Maradona owned Mexico '86.
